Need help with any info or insight on these decoys that I recently found. The pictures include a Herters 72 for comparison. They appear to have weight molded into the flat bottom bodies, and the picture shows some rust bleed through the foam. My buddy says the heads seem to be foam with a drilled pilot hole, there is no hardware for attaching.

That body looks identical to some decoys I have that were made from a Decoys Unlimited diver body mold. Mine were made from expandable polystyrene (cheap cooler foam). A lot of folks heat a nail and drive it in the bill to prevent breakage.

We were thinking Decoys Unlimited as well, however, I thought the Decoys Unlimited name was molded into those bottoms in a semi-circle pattern.
They are the cheaper bead style foam.
Do they ride the chop and self right decently with just the molded-in weight or do they really need a keel? These would be longlined.
I woud assume without a keel that the heads are attached with an eyebolt? Are your heads glued as well?

Oliver, You are correct the Decoys Unlimited mold, should cast the name into the decoy.
Dave, I think there were some molds later in the life of the company that did not have the logo. I think there were also molds made from their molds so that could be it to.
Oliver, mine have a keel. They ride the water very well. In fact they are my favorite diver decoy. To my eye they look awesome on the water. The head on mine all broker over the years so I burlapped them and replaced the heads with Herter's Can heads.
