Pennsylvania hunting

Seems odd to me blue laws ended in the bible belt long before the northeast. What other activities/commerce are still under blue law?

Here in FL, there are still a few counties that are dry on Sundays. I believe there is also at least one county where you can't buy any liquor anywhere in the county.

I don't know how I feel about no hunting on Sundays.....mostly cuz Sat/Sun are the two days I get off. I do agree about a rest day for the animals but at the same time, not having the ability to go the entire weekend? I really don't like that, but then I learned hunting in a state that allows Sunday hunting.

Here are the dates

the fine print - "the bill does include stronger penalties for hunters trespassing, and require Sunday hunters on private property to carry written permission from the land owner." (the Outdoor News).

PA is very strong when it comes to game law enforcement as most PA hunters are well aware. I have been keeping in touch with my hunting & landowner friends in PA to get their reactions.

My only fish and game violation came in PA. Fishing a small Poconos wild trout stream that required barbless hooks. The hook on my line was pinched, but I had a pair of pliers to pinch them as a I went, and a box full of unpinched flies. To top that, the warden used a pair of nylons to test my pinched hook on the rod, and it snagged a thread. $25 ticket; pay on the spot on or have my gear confiscated until the court date. I paid--and learned my lesson.

Good because Pa is loaded with trespassers !

Rest for the birds is important. Here in CA lots of the duck clubs and most public refuges limit hunting to Wed, Sat, Sun. Works really well in my opinion

I agree 100%. It takes very little pressure for waterfowl and most other game to "Wise Up". Each state and province sets their own rules and regs.

my 2 cents
