Look at the Kara Robber. It may be a little bigger than you want. Ed Askew built a full size Kara (13.5') that weighed 80#. I bet you could built a Kara Robber under 70#.

Make sure that you grind /sand the surface down to the fiberglass. If you place the repair over any gelcoat, it won't hold. I used a 36 grit disc for my repairs.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going to repair it from the inside. The repair should be easiest from there and the will be easier to hide. I'll post some pics. Hopefully, I'll be contacting you for paint soon.
I'm restoring a fiberglass boat that has a foam core piece sandwiched in the cockpit. Unfortunately the foam is soaked with water. What is the best way to repair it? Should I cut it out from inside the cockpit and then sandwich in a new piece? (Thanks in advance.)
