Hey, one of our own !!

Thank you Eric. You will be happy to know that my marsh boat & marsh rig, gunning box, well worn paddle, etc. are the centerpiece of the exhibit. The art director had many questions to how it is used. That the goal is not to wound birds, but to make cleanest kills possible and enjoy the eating...

Hey, one of our own !!

Bob, Thank you very much for the post, much appreciated my friend. As far as I know this is the first hunting/angling exhibit at the ACWC gallery. Therefore the goal is to educate, enlighten and show folks that hunters & anglers have a very important role in American society on many levels...

For those that hunt and fish do yourself a favor

Please read The View From The Hill By Charles F. Waterman in the April, 2024 issue of Gray's Sporting Journal. The story was first published in Gray's in 1984, and I was 34. I read it back then as I read all issues from cover to cover, and always enjoy Mr. Waterman's writing. I'm now 74, and...

Change To Federal Mallard Pop Goal and Impact on Seasons

Mr. VanZile, I hear thee and there were well over a million waterfowl hunters then. We adapted and continued doing what we love to do as in "Suck It Up and Deal with it". The folks not happy today, Spoiled Rotten comes to mind. As for science it's kept me alive in many ways as well as the...

Change To Federal Mallard Pop Goal and Impact on Seasons

Jeff, You live in one of the bright spots in the Atlantic Flyway (the flyway with the least birds of the 4). Plenty of water, public access and fewer waterfowl hunters. The more water & food the better it favors the waterfowl and not the hunters. The birds have plenty of places to go once they...

    Whatcha Listening To?

Eric Now that is what I call some very good family history. Two Thumbs Way UP! When it comes to Live Music that makes ya dance the American Songbook is vast. Your parents enjoyed that first hand as did many when things got Wild. Ike & Tina live WOW. My LP collection is stashed away in old...

Change To Federal Mallard Pop Goal and Impact on Seasons

I respectfully disagree that less waterfowl hunters are doing more hunting, cuz they better have some very deep pockets. There maybe a few but on the whole I dunno. The days of hunting as much as one could in the their own area, plus going to other states and provinces is much more expensive and...

    Whatcha Listening To?

Thanks Tim. The line up varies, but Dwight & Hank stay in the Pilot (other copies in da house). These showed up for some recent listening and doing art. The collection keeps getting larger.... May have replaced collecting decoys in my older age.

    What's on your work bench?-April

Bob, fine wine doesn't always get better with age yet you do. Joe's gouge in the cork sez it all. That is one helluva photo, 2 thumbs up. " Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa Best regards Vince

    What's on your work bench?-April

Tim, Yer dog portrait is exceptional in so many ways. Portraits are tough to get right, the essence of the subject important as all the skills used to create the work. Lots of us do birds, few of use can do dogs as well as you, or even try to. You know and love yer subjects very well. Two thumbs...

    What's on your work bench?-April

Patrick thank you very much. There is a cedar arrow shaft from the back of the head down into the body for added strength. Even though it's not a gunning decoy I still make em that way, old habit. Yer drake Redhead and Broadbill are yer pure Style, and will toll birds just fine. Two thumbs UP...
