Found out yesterday that within the past month Cabelas started to offer veterans a 5% discount. All you need is some form of ID. In my case, my VA ID card was sufficient. Thank you Cabelas.

Good stuff!..but they just postponed construction on one near me to 2017
I'll look into an online option, and post if I find anything.

Well Jim, the sales clerk offered the discount AFTER she saw my NAVY cap. hahaha I never would have know about it if she hadn't brought it up.

Lowe's, (the home improvement place, not the boats), offers a 10% discount to veterans. When I found out about it they went back several weeks on some interior doors, (fortunately I still had the receipt), and gave me the discount. My situation was like yours. I was wearing my USMC Viet Vet. cap and the clerk told me about the program. Nice to see that sort of thing being extended to veterans.

Yes, Dave, Lowes is very good about their discount program. I have used it several times for major appliances.
