Last Friday morning I was out watching our woody marsh seeing if there were enough using it for a sat. morning hunt. When finished I slipped across river to my big blind and got in a little retrieving practice from dog door for new pup. As I was leaving boat blind I drifted by front of blind and noticed an odd shape and color in bushing. On closer examination it was a coot setting in the bushing right at water level. Eased up to it and it just buried itself into dead cedar bushing. First coot I,ve ever seen on this stretch of Pocomoke river in my entire life. We do have a few that show up yearly towards the coast about 10 miles away. Got some cell pics but can,t really see it well after it hid in pics. This same blind about 6 years ago I killed a surf scoter from . Only one of those I,ve ever seen on that river. Blind seems to attract odditys!
