I found a beaver dam today. I am hoping I can keep the beaver away from the shade trees I planted in the last couple of years. I don't really want to kill it, and it doesn't want to be dead.
We have a ton of beavers out here, lots of folks wrap a corrugated metal stuff around the base of them up to about 4 ft or so, and that seems to hold the beavers off.
You might be able to keep them from dropping your shade trees with it, but they could still get flooded out.
You can try the pvc pipe thing like this. Not sure but it may try cutting more trees to plug up the leak before it leaves. And if it just moves up the creek 20 yards you will be doing it again. If you simply tear out the dam they will cut more fast to plug it up so don't do that right away.
