Today I managed to hook-up the 15' orchard ladder in the shop so I could get up into the storage area. I still don't know what all is up there because there are boxes and boxes of stuff that has yet to be looked at. But I did manage to find a few goodies.
Two more old saddles, horse blankets & tack, a very nice original oak foot treadle Singer sewing machine (it even had the original 1890's manual in one of it's drawers), a Mission style Stickly oak chair with leather seat and back rest, a neat old 1800's rocking chair with leather seat, an antique chest of drawers and the original oak cabinet that our wind up Victrola came with. It has two doors on the front that open up showing the slanted shelves that holds the records, plus two big boxes of early 1900's 78rpm records.Bit one thing that really caught my eye was this oak wood case. I opened it up and found some neat goodies inside. There are adjustable taper reamers that are in like new condition. They look as if they would go from about 20 ga. all the way up to 4 ga. Now I have an easy way to change the tight chokes in my shotguns!
By using an adjustable taper reamer, you should be able to pretty much leave the forcing cone alone when changing the choke diameter.
BTW that big'ol Tom turkey has yet to leave here. He has been out behind eother the P/U or the Van ALL DAY everyday since last Sunday. You would think that after a week of looking at himself in the chrome bumper! Crazy bird.
Also, take a look at my neighbors website. Butch is a really neat guy and I have known Liz for over 20 years. They have a horse property just up the road from us about a mile. Liz has been into restoring old wagons, stagecoaches, freight wagons, covered wagons and chuck wagons ever since I've known her. Liz and Bitch make a good couple and love what they do.. When we get the new house built and teh 1880's Saloon open in the basement, they'll be there for the house-warming party and Butch can do all the singing while Liz can dress up like a Dance Hall Gal! Here's Butch's web-site. Butch has even preformed in Lewistown, Montana. He's getting to be an old fart like me now, haha.
