With the unexpected passing of Beau last May, I went through last season dogless. First time in over 30 years. That wasn't going to happen again, so I spent last weekend driving to Virginia to pick up an 8 week old Pudelpointer.

Here's Beau on his last hunt. Didn't know it at the time.

Those are cool dogs. My buddy has been training a few in his kennel.

What made you chose a Pudelpointer?

I came across the breed several years ago. Everything I read said they are excellent waterfowl dogs and they point. I had wanted to try a pointer because I do hunt quite a bit of upland too, so I figured if I could get one dog that does both as opposed to two dog I'd give it a try
