I spent part of saturday afternoon walking thru the remains of Winters boat yard in Mantoloking NJ. My friends son, has the demolition contract for it.One of the buildings was asbestos panels over wood frame.The asbestos is all gone. The roof trusses are the prettiest cedar you ever saw.I wish I lived closer. This building was about 26-28 ft wide and about 60ft long. There are full 2x10 or 12x 26 or so cross beams. the roof rafters are 2x 8 and full length also. No splice joints anywhere in any of this wood. My friend was trying to talk me into salvaging this beautiful timber, but I didnt think I could carry it all home on the plane this afternoon.I wish I had my camera.
