Old timey looking Harli decoy.

I believe this pattern was from that book by Anthony Hillman. It was the best/only reference book I had when I started getting interested in making decoys back in the olden times of the 1980's. Fundamental, quality handmade decoys never go out of style.

They just get better with use, and age.

I think very many of us started with that pattern book, my first dozen or so attempts at decoys came from it!

One day I want to watch a close-up video of you painting. Your hands must be incredibly steady, yet loose, to always create those sweet clean curves.

Yep that's the guys. Surprising they are still both alive, found ladies to marry, having kids, the whole shebang. Carl has a WAY bigger boat now though.
