You want that plate your pointing to even, or just a half inch lower then the bottom of the hull.....you have more drag then you want.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. Most sources will say, cavitation plate even with or above the hull, never (almost never) below the hull.

There are numerous videos, discussions and articles covering this subject. one example and another very in depth article long read but very educational.
