I start prepping for the next waterfowl season as soon as spring comes, I go out and check my clubs wood duck boxes and my mallard next. Put up new ones take down old ones. Plant waterfowl plants with my son and club members. Do are part to put back into nature. Last few years duck hunting hasn't been that great. So we do what ever we can to try to hold birds when they migrate through. After that I start working on my decoys and boats. I wish I could say I build them but like some of the great artist on this site. But that would be a lie. I wash them touch them up. Put new string and weights on if needed. I always buy something new. Floaters or spinners, I paint my boat ever year, new look with stencils. I work on my floating camp boat. Its a old Long Island clam boat that my friend and his friend built years ago. It sunk two or three times. Not because it not a good boat or safe. Because where we had it on the river. Barges big waves took it out and twisted the anchors. Got it off the mud at low tide and rebuilt the inside a few times. Each time better then before. I just keep myself business a little every free day. I just keeps me in a duck hunting frame of mind.View attachment IMG_20130316_114751.jpg
