Chuck,
Thanks for the trip down memory lane with your pics. I enjoyed seeing that pic of Kyle again. He has too been busy with other things the last several years to be carving decoys with us old duffers.
Nice work Jode. It always interests me to see how similar boats are used for different purposes in varying regions. We use a boat that is lightweight and drafts very little water and is poled through heavy vegetation much like you do but our target is frogs. I always work the pole and leave the...
Good morning Steve and thanks for the explanation. With your explanation and a google search I think I understand. I have enjoyed this series a lot and Lou explains some things very well but sometimes I struggle with some of the terminology but I can't blame him for my ignorance.
The next episode is available. Not sure where he is heading with this bow hook since I'm not sure what purpose it serves but it will be fun to watch and see.
Been enjoying this series very much. Can't wait for the next episode. I can't help but think that this would make a great television series and would beat most of the garbage "reality" shows that get air time now. I suppose the target audience would be small and only boat nuts like we have on...
I saw a tip many years ago and i can't remember where i saw it but have used this method with good success. Start with a roll of snow fence like you see in construction zones as orange but they make a green color that is readily available. I spray painted it a tan color before weaving the grass...
Griffin,
While i may agree with several of the observations already offered, i would like to offer a possible solution. I have used a solvent known as citrus solvent aka orange turpenes in the past to remove difficult stains or smudges without effecting the finish of the surface below. I once...
Al,
What a great holiday you are having! My daughter and i always look forward to your puppy pics. I'm sure Bev will give you a break from the pups to go hunting. Please excuse my ignorance but is it coincidence that all the pups are chocolate in the one litter but the other litter has mixed...
Jode,
Great video and history. I always love seeing different ways the old timers did things. A lot can be learned from seeing that stuff. Thanks for posting.
Hey Dave,
I thought it would be neat and add a little twist to the float this year if everyone would bring a decoy they carved very early in their carving career so we could see where they started and where they are now. Just a thought.
