    NDR-Montana Vacation help needed

Glacier Park is probably my favorite place on earth. It's getting more and more crowded but you can get away by taking some of the less popular trails or get a climbing guide book. Most of the climbs are not technically difficult and many routes follow breathtaking "goat trails". The fishing...

    Wyoming

I love wyoming but have never lived there. My son did an interned ship with game and fish and would have stayed if they had a permanent position availabl. We have been on three do it your self elk hunts west of encampment and have done pretty well. There are a lot of hunters but plenty of elk...

what is the best way to transport a set of these?

I'd say an airstream camper and a station wagon. Maybe accompanied by a potted plastic palm tree

    Looking for opinions

I dont have any information on that particular canoe but I think royalex was considered one of the best materials for canoe manufacturing. I've read many articles lamenting the fact that the company quit making it. It appears that the demise of royalex had nothing to do with the canoe market.

Thanks, I didnt remember ever shooting one like that, but it's been a long time.

    Dove question?

Iowa was late to legalize dove hunting so I've only shot a few. My grandson shot this today and I dont remember ever seeing one with this much blue. Is this common? I told my grandson it's daddy was a bluebird, but even he didn't believe that.

    Shotgun of Choice?

The beretta 686 onyx was my favorite gun that I traded off in a moment of insanity. I had the 3.5 version and was guaranteed to wake you up if you were drowsey.

Is it heavy like cast iron, or stamped metal?

    Barn Find (Pics)

Looks like something a bored farmer put together with parts from the scrap iron pile. Disc blade and spacer. I'm not sure what's on top.

    Pheasant hunting with the grandson.

Thanks, He loved it. After looking at the picture with the rooster flushing I realized that I could see the house I grew up in in the background. And that is the exact spot where I shot many a rabbit and jumped not a few coveys of quail with my single shot .410 in my early teen years.

    Pheasant hunting with the grandson.

I decided to take my grandson out for a first time pheasant hunt after a disappointing duck season. The land I farmed for 25 years was converted to a game farm after I quit farming. I was unenthusiastic about hunting pen raised birds but it's getting very hard to find land to hunt pheasants in...

    What a pussy....

Flashback to a day when when my fingers were too numb to pull the choke out on a 6hp boat motor that was icing up. I looked down to see my converse tennis shoes awash in water splashing over the side of a 14' boat on the Mississippi. As I turned around around to see if my friend was looking...

Anyone using a 28 gauge shotgun for Waterfowl.

Hi Mark, We had a guy hunt with us years ago that used a 28 gauge side by side. He was deadly on decoying bluebill from the layout boat. I believe he worked for or was on the pro staff of an ammunition company and was shooting hevi-shot of some sort. I always wanted to get a 28guage over under...

    Buying a handgun

Ok, I misunderstood your question. My wife started with the m&p and likes it so if it fits your hand it it would be a good choice for both of you. I'd also buy from a local gun shop if possible but have had good luck with gun broker with a couple recent purchases. Both guns arrived at my...

    Buying a handgun

I'd find a gun range or two and rent some handguns to let her test. I bought my wife a $1000 dollar pistol that throws brass right in her face. She also has trouble squeezing the grip safety. There's nothing like a few hours at the range to check for compatibility. It's cheaper in the long...
