I gun out of a Bob Frick BBSB, 12 ft. 9hp . I gun the Lower Chesapeake, it fast enough and rides The Sound very well. The speed is not a big factor because the water will determine you speed. There is seldom a day that's good for gunning that will let you use all your hp. Good luck . Cheers, FRITZ.

Howdy All, The best and only seat for a BBSB is a small trailer tire that is blown up to what feels right to you. Use a padded backboard your good to go. At my advanced age comfort is everything. Stay Well. Fritz.

Its been a lot years since I was in the marine world. All motors are different , so you will have to shop around. The weight will only make a difference in a small boat. They are well worth the price in sea keeping performance as well as planning speed. It is also much better in skinny water...

A boat16 foot with a 25 hp. engine needs pt&t . It is used to trim the boat for best sea conditions not just skinny water. A boat with pt&t plane much better and handle easer , If you are spending the money for a new boat get pt&t you will love it.
