    Steve Sutton Memories

Back in the mid to late 90?s, forums were the rage. The internet was fairly new and duckboats.net was about the only thing that I knew how to find! Anyone who was a frequent participant couldn?t help but notice the big online personality of Sutton. He was a really knowledgeable guy about...

Eric, we have several guys from Huntsville up at the Flats this week. Here is a little clip out of the Invisichairs from this week. Not boat related, but much more useful for us guides with clients than a layout boat is! http://youtu.be/zuoUfyJbESY

more flexible glass? mat vs. cloth

For what its worth, I dont wet the mat prior to applying. Paint the surface then stick the mat to it so that it does not have a crease in it. Just be sure not to go too big with the piece. Also, sometimes it works best just to layer the feathered edges into the corner. If it does not want to...

more flexible glass? mat vs. cloth

I like to rip off little pieces of mat for corners. Wet them out good with a chip brush and apply as many as you need for thickness. Dont cut the pieces- rip them so that you have a feathered edge.

Habitat Flats- Up Close and Personal.

Here is the first trailer for our new duck DVD. We are going to make another one that is more representative of the content of the video which has quite a bit of focus on family, management, conservation and hunting theory. The DVD is over 2 hours, so it is tough to convey in a 2 minute...

    Feeding wild ducks

Here is something to think about. I dont know how big a plot this is, but you might map out the areas that you want food in for next year. Plant those areas and leave the areas that you want to show water and to hunt (decoy pool.) Then, you can mow off the moist soil in those areas before you...

    Feeding wild ducks

Looks like a great stand, Eric! Hope that you left an area fallow and mowed for them to get started in and for decoys. I think one thing that can often be forgotten is that you have to show water as well! Hope it pays off in spades, spoons and green this winter!

    Herbicide recommendations

Eric, I agree with your smartweed feelings as well here in MO. It is rare that I have ever seen a preference for it over grasses in the fall. Good luck with the poison ivy. I hate that stuff. Ira

    Long range weather prediction site

Thanks Rob. I had glanced at that page before, but it looked too cornfusing for me. I took the time to dissect some of it today and it makes more sense. Ira
