Empty-handed again..
Today was 'my' closing day... Took one shot at a 25-yard crossing mallard and missed behind him (probably by 2+ feet)... A fitting end to my season.
So little shooting these 2 months has caused my shooting to become R.u.S.t.Y...
-But a beautiful day, it was, and I was...
Seems reasonable to me...
....I don't think it's irreverent to the waterfowl. (Comparatively: Videotaping their death, glorifying it, and posting it on youtube with heavy metal music probably damages duck hunting culture more. [egh.. Then hunters mix in language like: "SMOKED 'em!!"...
-Gotta be prepared. Next time bring some standard lead turkey loads. Deadly on eagles. Just make sure John Q. Law knows you're not using them to shoot waterfowl. That would be bad.

Shooting hours:
Open 1/2 hr before sunrise...
...but don't close 1/2 hr after sunset.
Instead, shooting hours close at sunset...
I can't figure out why...

-There's not a person in THE WORLD who would say you were doing wrong by taking such a good dog out to show her such a good time!
This pup's enthusiasm should serve as a reminder to all of us that there IS joy to be had in the PRESENT moment!
It did me good just to scroll through her...
I never met him, but it appears he left quite an impression on so many here. It is evident he had a very positive effect on many.
My heart goes out to all who mourn.

This thread is awesome...
Here's my blunder:
I forgot the gun...
I met up with two other Army newbies... And was almost too embarrassed to tell them that my shotgun was at home...
So, I did tell them, once I was SURE it was home... Buzzed home, and was back in the blind only an hour after...
